A Biglerville man is in jail after police say he shot a teen who rang his doorbell in the middle of the night. Several teens were allegedly ringing doorbells around 2am in Arendtsville Borough. Eric Lee Steinour, 29, confronted two of the teens in an alley, and when they ran away, he fired a handgun at them. The teens hid from Steinour and one of them, a 14 year-old boy, realized he’d been shot in the right foot and left leg. His mother arrived and took the boy to Gettysburg Hospital.
State Police Troopers responding to the scene found Steinour nearby talking to a neighbor. He admitted to firing the shot and was immediately arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering. The gun, a Glock 9mm, was seized.
The boy was transported from Gettysburg Hospital to York Trauma Center and is said to have non-life threatening injuries.
