HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane says she intends to remain in office even if she is charged in connection to an ongoing investigation.
The Montgomery County District Attorney is investigating whether Kane leaked grand jury information to a Philadelphia newspaper.
“That’s up to D.A. Ferman,” Kane says. “It is in her hands. We are cooperating with her office. The timetable is up to her, so I can’t speak on her behalf.
“I’ll tell you what I will do. For the past 13 months, I have been carrying on. I will handle it, and I will continue to do my job.”
The grand jury in Kane’s investigation did recommend that she face charges for perjury and obstruction.
Kane has denied any wrongdoing.
