READING, PA — Two students at Albright College in Reading have been suspended after creating a blackface video.
A girl can be seen in the video mocking the Black Lives Matter movement and black people in general as laughing can be heard in the background.
Her face is painted in blackface and there is padding in her pants as she dances around twerking.
The video was originally created using Snapchat, but has since been widely shared on social media.
McMillian statement says the students who created the video in a residence hall Tuesday night came forward voluntarily to report their actions and “express deep remorse.”
At this time the students have been suspended pending further “investigation and adjudication through the College’s community standards process.”
They were advised to leave campus immediately, but remain available.
