Alpacas take over State Farm Show Complex

Some unusual critters took over the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg this weekend.
Dozens of cute and furry alpacas crowded into the complex for the 2014 Alpaca Owners Association National Conference and Auction.
Alpaca owners from across the country traveled to the show to showcase their furry friends and to take part in competitions.
“It’s great to be here with everybody else, not only do you get to network with people who you meet once a year, bu also you get to see what the other animals look like, what other breeders have bred,” says Karl Heinrich with Long Hollow Siri Alpacas.
Vendors also demonstrated how to spin alpaca fleece and displayed fashions and hand-crafted items created from the animal’s wool.
