A young man from New York is biking across the country to raise awareness about lyme disease.
John Donnally kicked off his cross country trip in California back at the end of September and after about two months of biking, he’s found his way to Lancaster County.
His team is called TBDA which stands for Tick Born Disease Alliance and they made a stop at the Lancaster County lyme support group in Bart Township.
Donnally, his parents and sister all suffer from lyme disease.
“There isn’t enough awareness about these diseases. The diagnostic tests isn’t always effective and I wanted to do something in the scope and really put these diseases and the people who suffer from them on a national stage,” said John.
Donnally has just 300 miles left on his cross country trek.
He’s expected to end in New York City on December 1st.
