CLAY TOWNSHIP, Lancaster County – UPDATE: Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has identified the body that was found in Middle Creek Wildlife Area as 46-year-old Karl Messerschmidt of Lebanon County.
Police say, Karl Messersmith, 46, of Myerstown was reported missing on March 18th, when State Police reported that Messersmith was possibly suicidal. His vehicle was found parked near the intersection of Woodcock and Laurel Lane inside the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area.
PREVIOUS: A body was found in Clay Township Saturday morning according to Emergency Dispatch.
Dispatch says the body was found around 10 a.m in Middle Creek Wildlife Area near Museum Road and Laurel Drive.
According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, the person died of self-inflicted wounds.
Northern Lancaster Regional Police Department is investigating.
