DENVER, Pa. - Dog lovers flocked to Lancaster County to learn more about man's best friend. The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue hosted a two-day canine behavior workshop this weekend at the Comfort Inn in Denver.
The event was led by renowned canine expert, Pat Miller. Miller explained how dogs think and learn, the importance of body language as well as the proper way of showing affection.
"Trying to teach people the right way to deal with dogs is probably the biggest obstacle we all face." DVGRR Executive Director, Robin Adams said. "Everybody wants to hug a dog, and trying to teach people not to do that and alternate ways in order to show affection to your dog ."
The rescue has helped place over 4,000 golden retrievers into new homes through eastern Pennsylvania and northeastern part of the U.S,
