HARRISBURG, Pa. - PennDOT officials coming together at Riverfront Park to honor one of their own who passed away in a traffic crash. Harold Whipple passed away on August 3rd after he was critically injured while traveling from a work site with one of his coworkers. Officials made remarks about Whipple at the PennDOT workers memorial, which is dedicated to workers who lost their lives.
"He had a great sense of humor," said Sandra Tosca, PennDOT District 3 executive. "He loved people. He loved life. He was very generous with his time. He would mentor new employees."
Whipple was a bridge and structural draftsmen designer and he's the 87th fallen transportation officer recognized by the memorial.
