"Girls on the Run" is a non-profit organization and it is on a mission to make every girl feel like she counts one step at a time.
" Girls growing up now is a different childhood from when I was growing up,"says Girls on the Run coach Stacy Morris, "and I think it is so hard sometimes with technology these days and bullying so they get to come to "Girls on the Run" and hear great things but we have some fantastic girls with great answers so positive and up lifting."
The after school program not only teaches young girls about the importance of physical health but encouraging a positive attitude and mindset that could motivate anyone even me.
The young runners at Red Mill Elementary are also gearing up for a big 5K race in May where they will celebrate their one millionth girl
" 'Girls on the Run International' is serving its one millionth girl this season," says executive director Gillian Byerly, "which is a huge milestone of course so we have a number of activities to celebrate the one in a million girl, its going to be the theme of our 5K in the spring and we are going to have a lot of one in a million theme activities as well. "
