An investigation that began in April 2013 ends with the arrest of a Columbia Borough man. A electronically wired police informant purchased a half once of cocaine from the suspect for $700 in Lancaster. Last month the same informant bought another half ounce of cocaine for $700 from the suspect in Lancaster Township. On July 3, 2013, Lancaster County Drug Task detectives and Columbia Borough police arrested Stanley Bennem as he pulled up outside a home in the 300 block of Perry Street in Columbia. He was found to be in possession of seven bags of cocaine and approximately $1600 in cash.
Charges against Bennem include two counts of Delivery of Cocaine, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Communication Facility and Possession with intent to Deliver Cocaine. Following arraignment Bennem was sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $3 million cash bail.
