A crash on Eastbound 283 at the Airport Connector in Lower Swatara Township has shut down the Eastbound lanes.
Three people were injured. They were all taken to the hospital. Two of the injured people were in a van. A car involved in the crash reportedly rolled over. A dog that was in one of the vehicles ran away from the accident, a German Short Hair Pointer with a purple collar. A good samaritan found the dog and took it to Willow Run Veterinary Clinic. The dog has sore paws but is otherwise okay, according to a clinic employee.
It appears the van traveling east bound attempted to use an emergency turn around. Two other cars then hit the van.
Traffic is backed up in the area. Police hope to soon open at least one lane of traffic.
