SHIPPENSBURG (WPMT)-Firefighters are battling a three-alarm fire at a lumber and hardware business in Cumberland County.

Flames broke out at McCune Lumber Company located along the first block of West Burd Street around 12:42 p.m. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen for several blocks.

The fire is impacting traffic on West King Street between Earl Street and Roxbury Road. Motorists are ask to avoid that area.

The family-owned business has been operating in Shippensburg since 1954, according to the company's website.

So far, no word on what caused the fire.
