LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. – The April 5 death of an inmate from the Lebanon County Correctional Facility has been ruled accidental . The deceased was identified as Victoria Herr, 18, of Lebanon. Her death had been under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
On March 31 Herr was being escorted from the medical unit to her cell by prison staff members when she collapsed outside her cell and became unresponsive.
Herr was rushed to the Good Samaritan Hospital by First Aid Safety and Patrol. She was then airlifted to the Lehigh Valley Hospital and placed on life support. She died several days later.
Autopsy results from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office show cause of death as complications of chronic substance abuse and anorexia.
