CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. – A domestic incident leads to the arrest of an Enola man on an illegal weapon charge. It happen at about 6:30 am on December 29. East Pennsboro police were called to a home in the 100 block of South Enola Drive, Enola.
Officers found that Howard Backenstoss III, 36, of the same address, had assaulted a female victim at the home.
Backenstoss fled the scene and when located later by officers, he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police also found that he was also in possession of two firearms. Backenstoss is a person who is prohibited from owning firearms.
Charges against Backenstoss include Persons Not to Possess Firearms, Simple Assault, Harassment and DUI.
