State police in Lancaster are investigating a fatal accident that occurred early Sunday morning on Route 30 in Paradise Township. Two female passengers were killed and three others in the van were seriously injured in the single vehicle crash around 5:00 a.m.
Police say the van was traveling west when it crossed over the middle turn lane and eastbound lane and left the roadway for unknown reasons.
The van then struck a rock pile, a small tree and a large tree head-on.
The crash occurred in the 3100 block of Lincoln Highway at Paradise Lane and Kinzers Road.
According to police, none of the occupants in the car appeared to be wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
No names have been released at this time.
Anyone who may have information regarding this crash is asked to call State police at 717-299-7650. Route 30 in the area of the crash was shut down for several hours but has since reopened.
