BERKS COUNTY, PA (WPMT) Police in Berks County are investigating a suspicious death after human remains are discovered.
Amity Township Police were called at about 10:05 am to a wooded area near the first block of Monocasy Creek Road in Douglassville. The human remains were actually discovered on Monday by a passerby but was only reported to police this morning.
The Berks County Coroner was notified and responded to the scene along with Berks County District Attorney Detectives officers.
A county forensic services unit is processing the crime scene. The human remains will be taken to the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. An autopsy is scheduled for Noon on Wednesday.
So far the human remains have not been positively identified.
