LANCASTER, Pa. – Jaime Alberto Santiago-Leon, 30, wanted in connection with a 2015 homicide in Lancaster is arrested in Texas. Santiago-Leon is accused in the September 5th, 2015 shooting death of Luis Santiago at a house party on East Chestnut Street.
Investigators received information today that Santiago-Leon was staying at an address in Early, Texas. The information was relayed to police in Early. At about 1:30 p.m. EST, officers from the Brown County Sheriff’s Department went to the address provided and located the suspect. Santiago-Leon’s was confirmed and he was arrested without incident.
Word Santiago-Leon’s capture was not immediately released as notification of the arrest was made first to the family of the victim in the homicide investigation.
The investigation into Santiago-Leon’s whereabouts between September 2015 and today is on-going. Authorities from Lancaster County are coordinating with their counterparts in Brown County, TX to arrange extradition of Santiago-Leon to Lancaster County.
