Dozens of Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers will soon be heading overseas.
About 60 service members from the 213th Personnel Company at Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County gathered to say goodbye to their families and friends on Saturday.
The group will divide and travel to three different countries, Romania, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
They will perform either human resource or postal support duties.
Maj. Danie MacDonnell, Commander of the 213th Personnel Company says, “I’m very excited about deploying to Afghanistan with my soldiers, we spent the last several months preparing for it, we’re all ready to go and we’re very excited to be able to execute the mission that we were designed to execute.”
The troops will mobilize in Fort Dix, New Jersey before heading overseas.
Each group is expected to be deployed for about nine months.
