HARRISBURG, Pa.-- It's going to be several days before the train schedules get back to normal following this week's deadly train derailment in Philadelphia.
Passengers here in Central Pennsylvania are now trying to find alternate ways to get to where they need to go. Whether it's for work or for fun... people who had plans to take the train to New York this weekend will now need a plan B.
As of now, there's still no Amtrak service running between Philadelphia and New York City... and we're told that's going to be the case until at least Monday.
There is also reduced service between Philadelphia and Washington. If you already bought a ticket, you can still use it-- but you'll have to connect using New Jersey Transit or SEPTA instead.
In the meantime, people are getting around by bus, plane, and other transit systems.
Some airlines have also added increased round-trips to accommodate demand to New York City and Boston.
Amtrak says they're hoping to resume full service next week.
Meanwhile, the NTSB has turned the crash site back over to Amtrak where they're now working around the clock to rebuild the track.
The head of Amtrak says they will also be implementing a technology known as "positive train control" in all of their trains by the end of the year.
Investigators say the system, which corrects human error, could have prevented the crash.
