JAPAN (WPMT) Rear Admiral David Pimpo, who currently heads Naval Supply Systems Command weapons support department with sites in Mechanicsburg and Philadelphia, is among three Navy rear admirals forced into retirement in the aftermath of a massive Navy bribery scandal in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the military newspaper, Stars and Stripes, Rear Admiral Pimpo was censured by the Secretary of the Navy, along with Naval Forces Japan Commander Rear Admiral Terry Kraft and Rear Admiral Michael Miller, to “document their failure of leadership” related to dealings with Glenn Defense Marine Asia between 2006 and 2007, the Navy said in a statement.
Admiral Pimpo was supply officer aboard the Nimitz class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan at the time of the scandal. He assumed command of NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support on July 31, 2014.
