LANCASTER, Pa. – A bar that doesn’t serve alcohol may sound a little odd to some but for 28-year-old Kyle Kuehn it makes perfect sense. Kuehn is a recovering alcoholic. He has been sober since January.
He found it hard to find a spot to hang out late at night that doesn’t serve alcohol so he decided to open a dry bar. It’s called Lights Out and will serve a variety of coffee and food but no alcohol.
Kuehn is excited for his new venture not just for himself but to help others recovering from addiction and says he is humbled by the experience. He added, “People in the community have responded with just love and hope … they want to support it.”
Starting in October, the Lights Out bar will operate on select Friday nights out of The Rabbit and Dragonfly in downtown Lancaster.
