If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. That’s what one York County man did when a store clerk foiled his attempts at robbing a convenience store early Sunday Morning. Adam Cooke, 28, of West Manheim Township, is accused of holding up two convenience stores within a 30-minute time frame. He is charged with robbery, theft and attempted robbery.
His first attempt happened around 2:45 a.m. at the Rutter’s located along the 1400 block of Baltimore Street. Cooke got away empty handed after the clerk refused his demands to hand over money from the cash register.
Not to be deterred–Cooke drove to the Turkey Hill located along the first block of Fuhrman Mill Road. He got away with $40.00 in cash.
Police caught up to Cooke just a few blocks away as he was fleeing the scene in his pickup truck.
No weapon was displayed during the robberies.
He was taken to central booking for arraignment.
