LANCASTER, Pa. – A School District of Lancaster middle school basketball and track coach is charged Lancaster City Police with Unlawful Contact with Minors and Corruption of Minors. The arrest of Anthony D. Tyler, 29, stems from an investigation that began on Monday June 8.

It was reported to School Resource Officer, Dorsey Sumrall that a Reynolds Middle School basketball and track coach had inappropriate contact with a student, at different points, during this past school year. The police bureau’s Investigative Division Special Investigations Unit, immediately initiated an investigation into this report, led by Detective Sergeant Jimmy Mummau.

It was learned that between September 2014 and May 2015, Tyler had the victim, a 14 year old student, travel with him in his vehicle and stay overnight at the suspect’s house in the 100 block of Ruby Street.  It is alleged that during those times Tyler had the victim expose himself multiple times.  He is also alleged to have had the victim to view pornography on  his cell phone and had the victim engage in a sex act in front of him.

Charges against Tyler include Unlawful Contact with Minors and Corruption of Minors.

On Friday afternoon, arrangements were made with Tyler to come to the police station, where he was interviewed by Detectives and arrested on the charges.

The investigation was conducted throughout the week in conjunction with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit and Lancaster County Children and Youth Agency. The investigation continues.
