TONIGHT

An arctic front continues to sag south bringing with it another Arctic blast to the area. Temperatures will fall from the 20s after midnight to the teens by morning.

TOMORROW

Another fast moving clipper heads in but this one is accompanied by stronger upper level energy. It will ride along the arctic boundary, which drops south tonight, and moves off the coast strengthening as it does so.  This development begins right over us, which means we’ll likely see some light snow as it begins to form, with moderate snow picking up through the day.  For now, we’re looking at 4-8” along the southern counties bordering Maryland, in around the PA Turnpike with 3-5” and further north 1 to 3”.  A shift in the storm track north or south may adjust snow amounts north or south so please keep that in mind.  A lot may happen overnight.

REST OF WEEK

The arctic chill remains for several days with single digits lows and highs only in the 20s. Breezy winds will make it feel much colder as wind chill values are likely to run in below zero to the single digits. Thursday there may be a quick moving system that could deliver some light snow to the area.

By the weekend, temperatures should warm up a bit closer to 30°.  Another clipper system arrives for Sunday bringing the chance for light snow late in the day towards evening.
