SWATARA TOWNSHIP, DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa.–A man is facing charges after police say he stalked and assaulted a woman in a Walmart parking lot in Dauphin County.

Michael Zapcic, 42, of Hummelstown, is charged with stalking, false imprisonment and indecent assault.

It happened Wednesday at the Walmart located along the 6500 block of Grayson Road in Swatara Township.

The  female victim told investigators that when she entered the store she was approached by a man, later identified as Zapcic. While the woman shopped, she was approached again by Zapcic who asked if he could “touch her legs,” according to the criminal complaint.

The victim told Zapcic to go away, but he continued to follow her throughout the store, according to court documents.

As the victim checked out, Zapcic followed her outside to where she was parked. When the victim tried to put her purchases inside her vehicle, she told police that Zapcic ran his hand up her leg and grabbed her buttocks. The woman shoved Zapcic away, but he tried to get into her vehicle by putting his hand inside her door, according to the criminal complaint.

Police interviewed Zapcic who admitted to meeting the victim at the store, but denied touching her or trying to get inside her vehicle, according to court documents.

Zapcic told investigators that when the victim’s car door was open, he tried to hug her goodbye.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 4.
