YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A Spring Garden Township, woman found “huffing” dust cleaner in her car, faces multiple charges after she nearly hits an officer and then leads police on a high speed chase.
The incident began Monday afternoon at 12:17 p.m. when Springettsbury Township Police were alerted that Micah Ryann Lindstrom, was “huffing” in her vehicle. An officer located Lindstrom’s car, a black Chevrolet Cobalt, in the parking lot of the Sam’s Club tire repair center just off East Market Street. The officer approached Lindstrom and noticed her slouched in the driver’s seat and huffing on a can of dust cleaner in her right hand. When the officer asked Lindstrom to show him identification her speech was slurred and her movements were slow. He also asked her about her keys which she indicated were in the ignition.
It was then that Lindstrom started the car. She ignored the officer shouts for her to turn off the car. She drove forward and hit the curb. She then put the car into reverse nearly striking two police officers. After that she took off at a high rate of speed eastbound on Concord Road with police in pursuit. Turning onto Edgewood Road she nearly hit another vehicle head on. Police discontinued their pursuit when speed exceeded 70 miles per hour.
With assistance from a Wrightsville Borough Officer, police were eventually able to box in Lindstrom’s car when she slowed for stopped traffic at the intersection of Edgewood Road and East Prospect Road. An officer jumped out and reached into Lindstrum’s car and pulled the keys out of the ignition. Other officers then pulled Lindstrom out of the car and she was placed under arrest. Police also retrieved two cans of Ultra Dust spray from the front passenger seat.
Lindstrom was taken to Memorial Hospital where she consented to a BAC test.
Charges against Lindstrom include DUI, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer, Reckless Endangering Another Person, and Illegal Use of Certain Solvents,.
