YORK, Pa.–A York County prison inmate is facing criminal charges for threatening to kill his ex-wife and other family members during recorded phone conversations with his 12-year-old daughter, according to court documents.

Steven C. Anderson, 49, is charged with stalking, two counts of making terroristic threats and four counts of harassment. Anderson was arraigned on the new charges on Dec. 23. He had previously been charged with driving under the influence and child endangerment in May 2015.

Police began investigating Anderson in mid-November after Anderson’s ex-wife told authorities he had made several threatening remarks over the phone to their daughter while he was incarcerated at York County Prison, according to the criminal complaint. The phone conversations were recorded and monitored at the prison.

Investigators reviewed the taped conversations and were able to verify the threats took place on Sept. 6 and Nov. 18, according to court documents.

During a taped conversation on Sept. 6, Anderson says, “Daddy’s getting madder and madder and he’s going to kill when he gets out…you’re right I will, I will, I want to destroy her. I will not give up until I destroy her. I want her dead or destroyed.”

Anderson spent a majority of the conversations talking about his ex-wife, even though his daughter asked him to stop, according to the criminal complaint.

Police said Anderson has a history of violence against his ex-wife.

Anderson remains in York County Prison without bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 4.
