YORK, Pa. - The York Jewish Community Center is teaching kids how important it is to help others. Parents in the area brought their little ones to a "Paw Patrol Rescue" event at the center.
Kids took part in creative activities inspired by their favorite canine characters from the Nickelodeon TV show, "Paw Patrol." Through each of the famous pups, the kid's learned about how local shelters help and care for homeless animals.
"It's important that we teach compassion and empathy to our younger folks and our community," York County SPCA Executive Director, Melissa Smith said, "So, this is so important and it's so important that the Jewish Community Center also recognizes the importance of teaching that to children."
Money raised during the event will be given to the York County SPCA.
