YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Editor's note: The above video is from April 16.
A second person has died following the April 16 multi-vehicle crash along Route 30 in York County.
James Lawyer, 52, died April 25 at WellSpan York Hospital, nine days following the multi-vehicle pileup in West Manchester Township, according to the York County Coroner's office. Lawyer was the spouse of 77-year-old Barry C. Hirneisen, who also died in the crash, according to the coroner's reports.
The crash happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. on April 16 when a box truck hit multiple vehicles at the intersection of Route 30 and Kenneth Road, including the 2008 Toyota Yaris that Hirneisen was driving. A total of 13 vehicles were involved, with numerous injuries of varying degrees reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
