YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Update (12 a.m.) The York County Coroner said a New freedom man died following a motorcycle crash in Manheim Township on Saturday afternoon.
The unhelmeted operator, identified as Chuck Fowler, 55, of New Freedom, was the only occupant on the motorcycle.
He was reportedly traveling northbound on Arnold Road when he crossed over the opposing lane of traffic. Police said he entered a wooded area before striking a tree.
Speed is said to have been a factor, according to the coroner.
The coroner also said there will be no autopsy, but routine toxicology was obtained.
The next of kin has been notified, according to officials.
The coroner said the man's name will be released Sunday.
His cause of death was ruled multiple blunt force trauma and the manner of death was accidental, according to the coroner.
