Woman dies after single vehicle crash in Carroll Township

The woman died upon impacting a tree, the York County Coroner said.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Update, 2:15 p.m. (Oct. 27): The York County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Rebecca Melvin, 40, of the 800 block of West Trindle Road in Cumberland County.

The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma, and the manner of death an accident, the coroner's office said.

No autopsy is scheduled.

A woman has died after a single-vehicle crash in Carroll Township.

On October 26 around 7:50 p.m., the York County Coroner's Office was dispatched to the area of Williams Grove Road at York Road for a reported fatality after a crash.

Officials say that the woman lost control of the vehicle she was driving around 7:25 p.m. on October 26.

After losing control, officials say that the vehicle struck a tree, killing the woman on impact.

The woman's identity will be released after her family has been notified.

There will be no autopsy, but a routine toxicology was obtained.
