Lancaster County road worker dies after being struck by vehicle

LANCASTER, Pa. — Update, Oct. 11: The deceased has been identified as Linetta Wells, 56, of Pottstown, Montgomery County, according to Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni.

A flag operator on a road construction site died after being struck by a vehicle in Lancaster County Thursday morning, according to the Lancaster County Coroner's Office.

The 56-year-old woman, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene, Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said.

The incident occurred around 7:38 a.m. on Stone Mill Road, near Plymouth Road in Manor Township, dispatch said.

Stone Mill Road and Plymouth Road were closed near the scene, dispatch said.

The woman's identity, cause and manner of death will be released following an autopsy, Diamantoni said.
