CAMP HILL, Pa. — Police in Cumberland County are searching for a man accused of physically abusing a child.
Avery King, 28, is charged with aggravated assault of a child, endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault in connection to an alleged incident that occurred June 10 in Camp Hill, according to Lower Allen Township Police.
The victim's mother contacted authorities when she discovered bruising on the ears of the 4-year-old child, police said. A doctor determined the injuries were the result of blunt force trauma, according to police.
Police said King was watching the child on June 10, and the child was already in bed when the mother arrived home. The next morning when she was helping the child dress, the mother observed the bruising and contacted authorities.
Investigators determined King was the only person that could have caused the injuries sustained by the child, and issued a warrant for his arrest.
