CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Two Cumberland County men were convicted this week of sexually assaulting a semi-conscious woman at a party last year, District Attorney Sean McCormack said Tuesday.

Chase Toombs and Taj Tucker were found guilty by a Cumberland County jury of sexual assault, conspiracy to commit sexual assault, indecent assault by forcible compulsion, conspiracy to commit indecent assault, simple assault, and conspiracy to commit simple assault in a trial before Honorable Judge Christylee Peck, McCormack said.

The charges were filed in March 2023, after the victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted by both men at a get-together with friends and coworkers.

The victim reported that she had been invited to the get-together by a friend and expected to hang out and have some drinks with coworkers, according to McCormack. After having several drinks, the victim said she began to lose consciousness.

When she came to some time later, she found both suspects sexually assaulting her in a bathroom, according to evidence presented at trial.

Later that night, the victim reported she had a friend take her to the hospital to undergo a sexual assault examination, where the nurse noted multiple injuries to the victim.

Law enforcement subsequently executed a search warrant on the Snapchat accounts of both men, where they found communication between the two following the assault, McCormack said. The two defendants discussed getting their stories “lined up” and admitting that they “let the (alcohol) get control.”

Sentencing is scheduled for December 3, 2024, before Judge Peck.
