MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — The Cumberland County borough of Mechanicsburg will welcome a new Chck-fil-A restaurant this week.
The popular fast food chain will open a new location at 219 Gettysburg Pike on Thursday, the company said in a press release.
Chick-fil-A Shepherdstown Crossing, owned by Mechanicsburg residents Bill and Linda Lindoerfer, will be open for dine-in and takeout Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Bill Lindoerfer has worked at multiple Chick-fil-A locations over the last five years prior to his selection to own and operate the Mechanicsburg location.
“We are very blessed that we get to serve our community through Chick-fil-A Shepherdstown Crossing,” Lindoerfer said. “I’m looking forward to sharing the Chick-fil-A experience with our friends and neighbors. This is our home, where we raised our children and have lived for many years, and I cannot wait to build a culture of care for our Team Members, our Guests and our local community.”
The new restaurant will also feature Mobile Thru, a fully dedicated lane in the drive-thru where guests can pick up orders placed on the Chick-fil-A App.
When joining the Chick-fil-A One tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. Guests can go here to view delivery options in their area.
The Shepherdstown Crossing restaurant joins more than 10 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York market, the company said.
The new restaurant will employ approximately 120 full- and part-time team members.
To celebrate the opening of its restaurant in Mechanicsburg, Chick-fil-A, Inc. said it has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Shepherdstown Crossing is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Mechanicsburg area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year, the company said.
Lindoerfer’s restaurant also plans to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need, according to the company.
To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Chick-fil-A said its operators are committed to hiring, developing and retaining top talent and providing a positive work environment for people of all ages and backgrounds.
"Team Members have opportunities for flexible work hours and leadership growth, competitive pay and benefits, hands-on training and mentoring and the chance to apply for scholarships to support their continuing education," the company said.
