State Police investigating crash, 2 injured

According to police, two people were sent to the hospital for their injuries.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police in Carlisle are investigating a crash that sent two people to the hospital Monday evening.

According to a press release, the crash occurred at 6:03 p.m. on Monday when a marked Cumberland County Sheriff unit was traveling west on West Trindle Road, passing its intersection with Horners Road in South Middletown Township. The second involved vehicle, a Honda SUV, was traveling east on West Trindle Road.

The Sheriff's vehicle, while operating emergency lights and sirens, was attempting to pass other vehicles westbound when it entered the eastbound lane and struck the the Honda SUV head-on.

Both drivers were transported to local hospitals for treatment for their minor and non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation. PSP crash reconstruction unit and forensic service unit assisted at the scene. Trindle Road was closed for almost three hours while crews were on the scene.
