Cumberland County celebrity bartending event supports Alzheimer's fundraiser

Local legends gathered at Grateful Goat Brewing and Provisions for a celebrity bartending event to benefit the 2024 Harrisburg Walk to End Alzheimer's.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Central Pa. celebrities gathered at a Cumberland County bar to raise money for a good cause.

Grateful Goat Brewing and Provisions in East Pennsboro Township hosted a celebrity bartending event on Tuesday that benefitted the 2024 Harrisburg Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Celebrity bartenders such as former Hershey Bear Garrett Mitchell and Miss Senior Pennsylvania Connie Harness competed to see who could raise the most during their 30-minute shifts behind the counter.

Organizers say this event helped support a great cause and raised several thousand dollars.

"This ties into something very close to me, and it's bringing awareness," said Gary Huether, Grateful Goat founder. "Now we're following through, getting the word out [and] trying to drive people to City Island for the event."

The Harrisburg Walk to End Alzheimer's takes place on Nov. 2 on City Island.
