CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners, today announced that as the county moves into the green phase on Friday, June 12, at 12:01 a.m., the courthouse and all county government facilities will reopen to the public with restrictions.

Each government department that provides in-person services will need to adhere to the CDC, Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines of operating at 75% occupancy.

The courthouse and all county government facilities will be open regular hours, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

However, some offices may have limited hours, or residents may need to make appointments for those services in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. Residents should call the office in which they are conducting business prior to arriving.

“We ask that everyone abide by all the safety measures put in place to protect our residents and employees while doing business with the county,” said Cumberland County Commissioner Gary Eichelberger. “The green phase eases most restrictions to allow the economy to strengthen, while continuing to prioritize the health and safety of our residents.”

At this time, the county-owned facility, Claremont Nursing Rehabilitation Center will remain closed to visitation, as well as the county prison, and all Department of Health and CDC guidelines remain in place to continue to maintain the spread of COVID-19.

Residents doing business with Cumberland County government are advised to wear masks and abide by social distancing guidelines when in the courthouse, and any county facility.

In addition, visitors will be asked if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms at the entrance to each facility. If they are, they must return at another time. The county is limiting capacity to 75 percent, encouraging teleworking, video conferencing and limiting the number of people in meetings.

Public meetings will be available to residents through video conference, and in person, but will be limited by occupancy restrictions.

Residents who wish to attend public meetings in person are asked to contact 717-240-6150.

Residents who attend meetings must adhere to the CDC and Department of Health Guidelines.
