Cumberland County man convicted of sexually assaulting minor

CARLISLE, Pa. — A Cumberland County jury this week convicted a Carlisle-area man for the sexual abuse of a minor between 2016 and 2018.

Dennis Weaver, 35, was found guilty of indecent assault of a child and corruption of minors after a two-day trial before Judge Albert H. Masland, the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office said.

According to testimony at trial, the victim stated they were sexually assaulted by Weaver between the ages of 6 and 8. 

The case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Courtney Hair LaRue. State Police filed charges.

Weaver will be sentenced at a hearing on November 26.
