MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — A Cumberland County man is facing multiple charges after police claim he threatened a shooting at the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command Center in Mechanicsburg earlier this month.

Alexander Murray, 27 of Carlisle, was at the facility on Nov. 13 for initial intake testing, according to Lower Allen Township Police.

However police claim Murray was showing signs of intoxication, and staff at the facility did not feel comfortable administering the testing, police said.

They advised security guards of the situation as Murray walked into the women's restroom. Security got him to exit the restroom and told him to leave the building.

Murray allegedly ignored their commands and instead went looking for a bag he claimed to have left in the property storage room.

When informed by staff that he did not have a bag when he arrived, police said, Murray became belligerent and began yelling.

He was then confronted again by security guards, police said. He then allegedly threatened to beat up the guards, take their guns, and shoot them, according to police.

The guards then took Murray to the ground and placed him in restraints until police could be dispatched.

Police said Murray was still screaming and yelling at staff when they arrived at the scene.

He was transported to the Cumberland County Prison, where a preliminary breath test was completed and confirmed the presence of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, according to police.

Murray is charged with two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of simple assault, one count of defiant trespass, two counts of harassment, one count of public drunkenness and one count of disorderly conduct, according to police.
