CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged for his alleged participation in a county-wide spree of thefts.

On Aug. 28, 2022, Upper Allen Police responded to a nearby restaurant for a reported theft. The victim had left their purse on the back of their chair when someone reached in and stole their wallet.

An investigation revealed that a group of suspects were travelling across the country in a rental car committing thefts from unattended purses at restaurants and then taking the stolen credit cards to stores to make quick purchases.

Rahmir Williams, 36, from Philadelphia, was identified as one of the three suspects involved in the thefts, according to police.

An arrest warrant was obtained which was used to extradite Williams from a Georgia prison to Pennsylvania.
