NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Police in Cumberland County are reminding residents to not trespass in a park while it's closed.
The New Cumberland Borough Park has closed temporarily due to the flooding of the Yellow Breeches Creek. Police reiterated that the closure is for dog walkers, walkers, residents curious about the flooding and opening day, and anyone else.
Due to the Susquehanna River continuing to rise into the Yellow Breeches, officials say that the park getting flooded is inevitable.
"For those worried about the opening day of trout [season], if the pictured signs are posted then NCB Park is CLOSED. There is no fishing regardless of how you get into the parking," reaffirmed police in a statement.
New Cumberland Police will be monitoring the situation including Saturday morning and noted that until the signs come down, the park will remain closed.
