CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Police are warning Cumberland County residents of a recent scam in the area.
According to the East Pennsboro Township Police Department, a scammer called victims and asked them to confirm the department's phone number in an effort to get victims to withdraw money.
The police department urges anyone receiving calls like these to report them by calling (717) 732-3633.
East Pennsboro Township Police also encourage residents to discuss scams with family members during Thanksgiving to make sure that everyone knows how to detect them.
