MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Police have received multiple reports of bear sightings in one part of Cumberland County.
According to Upper Allen Township Police, several people have called to report seeing a bear in the area of East Winding Hill Road and Winding Hill Drive on Friday.
There have been no reports of the bear being hostile or aggressive, police said.
The police department is asking residents in the area to move trash containers and bird feeders inside, so as not to attract the bears. If the bears are seen, do not approach the bears or attempt to confine them in any way, the police department said.
Upper Allen Police have notified the State Game Commission of the bear sightings. Residents are asked to call Upper Allen Police via 911 or 717-238-9676 regarding any concerns about public safety.
