CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Three central Pennsylvania counties are at a high risk today for fires.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Cumberland, Franklin and Perry Counties are under a high risk for forest fire danger.
Dauphin, Adams, York, Lancaster and Lebanon Counties have been issued a "moderate" risk.
For those living in the affected counties, outdoor fires are not to be started Thursday, Nov. 16.
According to the DCNR, In Pennsylvania, 99% of all wildfires are caused by people.
Certain conditions are necessary for a wildfire to occur:
An available fuel source, such as dried grass or leaves
Dry conditions, including low relative humidity
An ignition source -- some way for the fire to start
