CARLISLE, Pa. — A Cumberland County man is facing multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated assault, following an incident at GIANT.

The Carlisle Borough Police responded to a Sept. 25 report of a man jumping on cars and assaulting customers and employees at GIANT.

Around 8:15 a.m., officers received a report that a man, identified as Dalitso Sakala, 22, from Hummlestown, was reportedly jumping on cars and damaging the windshield of a vehicle.

A second call was then received from GIANT, located at 255 S. Spring Garden St., of Sakala breaking the entrance door and throwing things in the store, according to police.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Sakala allegedly throwing glass salsa jars at customers and employees, creating hazardous conditions within the store.

Police stated that Sakala refused to drop the jars and kept advancing on officers which resulted in a physical altercation with police and the suspect. Sakala was eventually arrested; one officer reportedly sustained a bodily injury from Sakala's resistance to being detained.

Sakala was charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, two counts of disorderly conduct, two counts of criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
