DALLASTOWN, Pa. — Students at Dallastown Area High School were dismissed early Thursday due to a reported bomb threat.
According to DASD Superintendent Joshua A. Doll, the lockdown was called after a student reportedly posted a bomb threat on social media.
The District's School Resource Officer and local law enforcement were notified and a thorough investigation was immediately opened.
As an added measure of safety, the high school was dismissed at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19 and all after-school activities were canceled.
"To be clear, terroristic threats are not taken lightly and are not tolerated at DASD," Doll wrote in a statement to students and family members.
The York County Regional Police Department conducted a thorough sweep of the high school and deemed it safe. School will be held in-person for all students on Friday, Oct. 20, according to the district.
Officers are investigating the source of the threat.
