35th annual Holiday Wish Project has Commonwealth employees give back

The project delivered Holiday gifts to over 600 people, including over 130 families and 60 seniors.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania government employees celebrated the 35th Annual Holiday Wish Program on Wednesday, which saw Commonwealth workers give back through donations of gifts.

The project saw government employees donate gifts to more than 600 people in counties across the Commonwealth, including more than 130 families and 60 seniors.

Representatives from Commonwealth agencies, including Department of Human Services Director Dr. Val Arkoosh and Auditor General Timothy DeFoor, teamed with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and the Pennsylvania National Guard to distribute the gifts.

"These gifts will fill very specific needs for families," Arkoosh said. "Yes, there's toys in these gifts, but there's clothing, there's shoes and socks, there's bedding and towels, things that these families really need and just don't have the income to purchase themselves."

The project was marked with performances by the Keystone Early Learning Center Children's Choir along with the PennDOT Choir.
