HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Harrisburg man wanted for multiple alleged offenses, including attempted homicide, was arrested Sunday after leading State Police on a foot pursuit following an attempted traffic stop in the city, according to a criminal complaint affidavit filed by authorities this week.

Anthony Dashawn Henderson, 31, was taken into custody after fleeing from his vehicle when a State Police trooper attempted a traffic stop after spotting Henderson's vehicle at about 11:33 p.m. Sunday in the area of Vernon and South 17th streets, police said.

The arresting trooper recognized Henderson's vehicle, a silver Subaru Legacy, as one he had been known to drive and was aware that Henderson had an active arrest warrant for criminal attempted homicide and firearms violations out of Harrisburg. He was also wanted on multiple other arrest warrants for charges ranging from simple assault, possession of marijuana, and violating a Protection From Abuse order, according to police.

Henderson's vehicle was also operating under expired registration, and he was driving with a suspended license, police said in the complaint.

The trooper followed Henderson's vehicle south on South 17th Street until it pulled into Ella Alley, when the trooper activated his lights and siren and attempted a traffic stop, the complaint states.

But Henderson immediately stopped his car and fled on foot, police said. Multiple troopers gave chase, pursuing Henderson south toward Berryhill Street. Henderson allegedly ignored multiple commands to stop and continued running until police briefly lost sight of him on the 600 block of South 16th Street.

He was later found attempting to hide in the backyard of a home and was taken into custody without further incident, police said.

Henderson was transported to Dauphin County Booking Center for processing and arraignment. Bail was denied due to his potential as a flight risk, according to police.

In addition to the outstanding arrest warrants, he is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, escape, evading arrest or detention on foot, driving under a suspended license, and driving with expired PA registration in relation to Sunday's incident, police said.
