HARRISBURG, Pa. — A local brewery is launching a new beer to raise money for North Carolina's recovery efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Helene.

Appalachian Brewing Company's launch of Higher Calling Hazy IPA stems from a call to action from DSSOLVR Brewing in Asheville, NC.

"DSSOLVR, turning from a brewery to a relief hub, initiated a project where they share a base recipe, label design, and access to discounted brewing supplies," ABC said in a press release. "Breweries nationwide, including ABC, are brewing their versions of Higher Calling, with 100% of net profits going to the NC Craft Brewers Foundation for disaster relief."

ABC's rendition of Higher Calling will feature an intense hopping with Citra, El Dorado, and Mosaic, followed by a dry-hopping with Azacca hops, emphasizing flavors of pine, citrus, and tropical fruits, making for an aromatic and flavorful hazy IPA.

"Beer has always had the power to unite people, and this project exemplifies that spirit," said ABC brewmaster Cliff Plank. "We're not just brewing beer; we're brewing hope for our friends in North Carolina."

The beer is set to be available around Thanksgiving at all ABC locations, offering patrons a chance to contribute to the "Mountain Strong" rebuilding efforts with every purchase.
